Dear Sir:

We are writing this letter representing Nike Japan in reply to you letter dated December 1, 2002.

You claim that the injury (rupture of tendon) you suffered on August 11 this year was caused by our defective tennis shoes.

Please note however that many people are wearing our shoes and we have never heard from them that they were injured due to the structural defect of our shoes. In addition, as long as we see the picture of our product you sent us, we see no damaged area. Therefore, we cannot think that our product you were wearing was defective.

Because of the above, we cannot think that the injury you suffered was caused by our product, and we can answer neither of your requests, i.e. requests for the recall of our products and for monetary compensation. Please understand this fact.

Because we are in charge of this matter representing Nike Japan, kindly contact us in the future regarding the matter.

Sincerely yours,

______________
