Dear Sirs:

I request improvement of the product MAXAIR and compensation for the injury I suffered. The contents are as follows:

While I was playing tennis wearing Nike tennis shoes MAXAIR, the tendon of my long extensor muscle of great toe was ruptured, and I went through an operation for a tendon suture at Sempo Tokyo Takanawa Hospital. I am still under medical treatment.

The rupture of the tendon took place right under the center of the 3cm wide belt attached to the instep with the ankle as a fulcrum. The doctor who operated on me told me that the thinner tendon was ruptured completely and the thicker tendon was ruptured four fifths. The ankle was also damaged severely, and fluid was accumulating on the ankle which was removed during the operation.

The main causes of the rupture of the tendon were the shoelaces, the hole for the shoelaces and the belt attached to the instep of MAXAIR tennis shoes, all of which stretch little. It is thus apparent that MAXAIR is structurally and functionally quite unsuitable as tennis shoes. Therefore I request the following:
1) A recall notice should be made and the dangerous MAXAIR and products of the
same kind should be collected immediately.
2) Monetary compensation (as per attachments) should be made for the pain and inconvenience I have been suffering.

As to the pain and inconvenience mentioned in 2), I have personally converted the value of the continuous pain, intermittent severed pain, inconvenience and disability I have been suffering in terms of calculation. I still feel pain, swell and numbness, and need rehabilitation and massage everyday. Any way, I am having a really difficult time because of the continuous pain and inconvenience. I truly hope that you will listen to and answer my requests sincerely.
